Outriders Africa
Applications Open for Outriders Africa Symposium: East Africa
Jalada Africa and Edinburgh International Book Festival are looking for eight artists to take part in Outriders: Africa Symposium: East Africa, a multi-disciplinary skills-share workshop happening in Nairobi on November 30th, 2018.
The selected East African writers and cultural practitioners must be citizens of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda or Ethiopia and currently based in one of these countries.
Created by Edinburgh International Book Festival, Outriders sees writers take on extraordinary journeys across vast regions. Outriders explores the idea that in turbulent and shifting times writers can contribute immeasurably to our understanding of the world, revealing untold stories and offering an entirely new perspective on places and events.
Outriders Africa expands these voyages into the continent. The symposium shall feature presentations, roundtable discussions and nuanced conversations to develop best practices in executing planned excursions in the region.
Apply HERE today to be involved in this networking session and learn more about the Outriders Africa project. You must be available to travel to Nairobi for the one-day workshop. Travel and accommodations will be provided to the eight selected artists.
This event is supported by funding from British Council (Kenya & Scotland) and Creative Scotland.
Deadline: Thursday, November 22nd, 2018
