“Imperial Wane” + “Omen Amen” + “That Thirty Eight Was Never Made Forty Two” by MistyRose Bosworth
IMPERIAL WANE
sirocco arising to royal domination
draft men rippled across the sea
wind whipped in subjugation
colonized waves of worth
machete felled old stalks
subjected strong canes
states of estates
reprisal
wax
OMEN AMEN
A soul floats its claims in love season
Hope rises beyond faith and reason.
The water holds tide apothecary,
cleanses mud, clear and color marry.
Dead sin feelings wash across
to where failure has no loss.
Set aside the wind whine,
Welcome wave chime.
That Thirty Eight Was Never Made Forty Two
Stop the clock: between a rock
and a hand gun.
Memories run.
High noon: dark on your mark.
Get set to turn tail,
mock the bail
Last dance: trigger trance
finger fail
siren wail
crying mum: memorial son
deed done
shoes flung
